New Show! BBC Surrey and Sussex
You may remember, back in October, I wrote a piece about my mental health and how it had taken me on a different path in my career.
I was overwhelmed with the amount of people who got in touch to share their own problems, offer support and acknowledge how they’d been able to relate to what I had written.
A short while ago, I was approached by BBC Surrey and BBC Sussex and asked if I’d be interested in hosting a new radio programme which will further raise awareness of mental health issues.
So, from June 6th, I’ll be back on the radio on a weekly basis with a show which will feature people from all walks of life sharing their story, and chatting about mental health. It’s not going to be preachy in any way, and we’ll have plenty of fun along the way, but of course we will be addressing big issues.
I’ve tried to use this as a way of describing the programme to people…
We’re always being told to talk if we’re struggling. It’s not that easy. However, some people gain comfort from just listening. This will be something for them to listen to, and hopefully relate to in a way that enables them to find the strength to help themselves or ask someone else for help.
An amazing line up of guests have already said they want to be involved in the show, and I can’t wait to get started.
If you are, or know someone who may be, interested in being part of the programme, do get in touch.
See you in June!
